Vietnamese enterprises invest effectively in Laos

Within the framework of Vietnam- Laos Investment Cooperation Conference in 2016, Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with Laos Ministry of Planning and Investment yesterday co- organized a discussion with the participant of two countries’ 300 enterprises.

Within the framework of Vietnam- Laos Investment Cooperation Conference in 2016, Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with Laos Ministry of Planning and Investment yesterday co- organized a discussion with the participant of two countries’ 300 enterprises.

Until now, Vietnamese businessmen have invested totally US$ 4.9 billion in Laos. Accordingly, many Vietnamese enterprises’ projects have been effectively put into operation in Laos; created around 4, 000 jobs and contributed to the Laos’ State budget such as Hoang Anh- Gia Lai Group, Vietnam’s banking branches, Viettel Group, Petrovietnam and others.
 
Director of the Foreign Investment Agency under Ministry of Planning & Investment of Vietnam Do Nhat Hoang said: “Vietnamese investors are meeting difficulties in investment policy and information from the Laos government; so he hoped Laos as well as Vietnamese government, ministries and relevant departments should regularly review the limitations and difficulties to have necessary support for two countries’ investors. The Laos government should create more preferential conditions to attract investments from Vietnam.
