Vietnam Register refuses vehicles using maps with nine-dash line

The Vietnam Register announced not to issue certificates for vehicles using maps with the “nine-dash line” in its document.

The country’s automobile registrar told importers and assembling plants to remove the map because it violated Vietnam’s island sovereignty.
Presently, Vietnam Customs and the Ministry of Finance are waiting for the government’s opinion on the re-export of BAIC, Zotye, Volkswagen Touareg which have installed the map showing the “nine-dash line”
The Vietnam Customs proposed the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Register to supervise and handle the map in the above-mentioned cars.
Made- in- China Zotye and BAIC cars have been seen on the streets while Volkswagen Touareg has been imported, showcased at Vietnam AutoExpo 2019 and waiting for re-export.
