Police in the central region’s Thua Thien-Hue Province have this week busted the biggest drug trafficking case in the province, the police said Saturday.

The police have detained Au Van Duc, 27, from a local house and suggested prosecutors to charge him with “drug trafficking.”

Earlier on Wednesday they caught his wife Nguyen Thi Phi Phi, 25, with more than a kilogram of heroin.

The couple said that since April this year, they have traveled to Laos, which borders Vietnam’s central region, more than 10 times to buy heroin and resell to some major dealers.

Further investigations have led the police to arrest 28 people selling and buying heroin on a local street on Thursday.
