Among the sports listed for competition in the international games, taekwondo would have at least six fighters going into training in preparation for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The minimum sponsorship is approximately US$100,000 which is 148% above the entire budget for taekwando last year.

However, the VOC scheduled to cut the living expenditure of Viet Nam Team in the Beijing Olympic Games to US$70,000. This is a 7% decrease in comparison to the budget of the 24th SEA Games.

Budget reductions will also take place with other international competitions, such as the First Asian Beach Games, the 4th ASEAN ParaGames.

However, the remainder would not cover the 3rd Asian Indoor Games (AIG), the VOC added, they already submitted a request to the government for more funding for this event and are awaiting the result.
