* Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup to Celebrate Great Spring 1975 Victory.
The 20th bicycle race, which is called “Ha Noi-Hue-Sai Gon” this year, is scheduled to start on April 12 in Ha Noi. It will pass through Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien-Hua, Da Nang, Daklak and Lam Dong, Dong Nai and finish in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.
The whole race is 1,900km long and is divided into 18 legs. Fifteen domestic and four foreign teams will participate in, including teams from South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and China.
HCMC Television is the main organizer of the race.
* National Boxing Club Championship Opens.
The opening ceremony of the sixth National Boxing Club Championship Monday featured 213 boxers from 26 provinces, including 97 women. The ceremony took place in Daklak Province. The event lasts until April 11.
The male boxers are competing in 11 weight divisions ranging from 45kg to 91kg while the women have 10 divisions from 46kg to 75kg.
The first of 21 qualifying matches in Women’s 46kg, Women’s 45kg and Men’s 48kg were held soon after the ceremony.
The National Boxing Club Championship has been held annually since 2003.
* City Welcomes France-Viet Nam Friendship Marathon Race.
The race is expected to have at least 5,000 participants, including 30 athletes from the ASEAN countries, begins on Le Duan Street in District 1, HCMC, at 5.30am on April 6.
The racers are grouped into four categories, including Men’s and Women’s 21km, Men’s 10km, and Youth’s 7km and 3km.
All proceeds go to the city’s Orphan’s Fund.
