The Ha Tinh Province People’s Committee has decided to provide VND700 millions (US$37,000) to two worst-hit districts in Typhoon Mindulle. The move is aimed to help families with dead or injured relatives and with collapsed houses.

Accordingly, Nghi Xuan District will receive 71 percent of the money while the remaining will be delivered to Loc Ha District.
The tropical storm Mindulle has knocked down 106 homes, blown away 8,000 roofs and inundated 650 others, according to the province’s steering committee for floods and storm prevention,
In Quang Binh Province, The cleanup effort at the landslide spot in Highway 12A, section through Minh Hoa District, has been tough due to huge number of soil and stones together with the mountainous terrain.
To prevent commodities from being stagnant at Cha Lo Border Gate, the province’s transport officials have guided vehicles to temporarily travel through a nearby road, which is parallel with the Highway 12A.
The province’s Department of Transport said it has mobilized all human resources to soon reopen the traffic on the highway.
Meanwhile, downpour-triggered floods have collapsed a 200 meters bridge crossing Gianh River in Dong Hoa Commune, isolating over 100 local residents, reported Tuyen Hoa District People’s Committee. Border army soldiers have delivered rice, salt and other necessities to the stranded Ruc ethnic minorities.
In Thua Thien-Hue Province, the army forces have helped farmers harvest 60 percent of the 2,500 hectares of inundated rice fields, said the province’s Military Headquarter.
