Most Venerable Thich Tri Tinh, First Deputy Patriarch and Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council and Most Venerable Thich Minh Chau, Deputy Patriarch of VBS, were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order yesterday, Dec 28.
Vice Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan on behalf of the Party and State presented the Order to the two monks at separate ceremonies held in
Vice PM Nhan expressed his appreciation of all the contributions made by the two religious leaders’ to the Buddhist Sangha since its inception. He added that the awards cited the great effort made by the two dignitaries for actively taking part in patriotic movements and Buddhist campaigns for peace, development and defense of the motherland based on the VBS motto: Religion - Nation - Socialism.
On the occasion of the solar New Year, Vice PM Nhan wished the two dignitaries health and happiness and conveyed his best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and Buddhist followers, both within and outside the country.
