The Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment on December 17 held a ceremony to grant the Vietnam Heritage Tree title to two 100-year-old camphor trees grown at Bao Dai Palace in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

These two camphor trees with scientific name is Cinnamomum Camphora, were planted symmetrically near the gate of the Bao Dai palace, the last king of Vietnam, in the 1930s. Now, each tree is about 30 meters high with trunk diameter of about 2.5 meters.
The association gave the certificate and inaugurated the stone steles for the aforesaid camphor trees and encouraged the local authority and residents to continue to take care and protect these rare trees.
