Three buses collide in freak accident in Quang Ngai Province

Three people were killed and six others injured in a freak road accident in which three buses collided on a main road in Pho Thanh Commune in Duc Pho District of Quang Ngai Province on January 28.

Bus no. 72N-9085 travelling from north to south crashed into another bus coming from the opposite direction, while it attempted to evade a bus that had parked on the side of the road for repair works.

After colliding into the bus coming headlong from the opposite direction, bus no. 72N-9085 lost control and rammed into the bus that was parked on the side of the road for repairs.

This sudden collision killed the driver, owner and the mechanic of the bus that was getting repair work done on the roadside.

Six of the total 100 passengers seated inside the bus parked for repairs as well as those on bus no. 72N-9085 were seriously injured.

On the same day, police temporarily seized a bus with license plate no. 47V-2565 to investigate the death of a passenger who was travelling to Nghe An Province and fell ill enroute.

According to initial information, 47-year-old Bui Duy Hien from Ma Drac town in Dac Lac Province caught the bus going to Quynh Luu District in Nghe An Province in the early morning hours of January 27.

Enroute to Quynh Luu District, he complained of a pain and the bus then detoured to take him to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. After admitting Hien into the hospital, the bus continued on its route northward.

Hien subsequently died at 8 a.m. on January 27 at the general hospital in Quynh Luu District.

Police temporarily impounded the bus on January 28 until further investigation.
