Co-hosted by the US and Canadian tea associations, the event attracted tea producers and exporters from Argentina, India, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and Vietnam, a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Agency said in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on November 2.
The company joined the competition with the support of the management board of the programme “Enhancing export competitiveness of small and medium-sized Vietnamese enterprises” funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, the Trade Promotion Agency, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade and foreign consultants.
“Dinh Vuong Pham” tea includes natural green tea; and lotus, grapefruit flower, magnolia and white jade flower-flavoured green tea. They are tender tea buds which are harvested before sunrise and processed immediately to prevent fermentation.
Over the course of more than 15 years, Tan Cuong Hoang Binh Tea JSC has built a cultivation zone under VietGAP standards in well-known Tan Cuong tea region in Thai Nguyen. Its tea products are recognised as “High-quality Vietnamese Goods” and exported to the UK, France, Germany, Russia and China.
On the occasion, the provincial authorities presented a certificate of merit to the company and held a workshop to discuss experience in promoting Vietnamese premium tea brand in the US, opportunities and challenges in building new images for Vietnamese premium tea, and tea consumption trend in the world.
Earlier in 2016, Green Tea, Extra Special brand by Ha Thai Tea Company in Thai Nguyen won the silver award in the competition.
