The management of the Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant announced on Monday that they are now ready with a flood and storm prevention plan and are currently working with experts to prepare an emergency plan in event of a breach to the plant’s dam.

This was stated at a meeting of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and relevant departments in the province and the investor of the Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant, in which they discussed safety measures and threat to the plant’s dam.
The Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant management said they are working with expert consultants to build an emergency plan in event of any threat of breach to the plant’s dam.
Nguyen Thanh Quang, head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Quang Nam Province, has suggested that hydropower plants not accumulate water in their reservoirs until the end of this month to protect the lowlands from unusually high flooding.
