Solemn National Day flag-raising ceremony held at Ba Dinh Square

A solemn flag-raising ceremony took place at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on the morning of September 2 to mark the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19) and Vietnam’s National Day.

Gathering as early as 5:30 a.m., crowds of citizens from across the country converged on the historic square to witness the event.

As military honor guards completed final preparations, the ceremonial formation marched into Ba Dinh Square at 5:55 a.m. to the solemn strains of the military march “Tien buoc duoi Quan ky" (Marching under the army flag).
