The Central Highland Flood and Storm Prevention Centre stated on March 30 that fishing boat PY 92355 had capsized near Hon Doi Island, Khanh Hoa Province.
On the same day, four of the fishermen were rescued, while six are still missing.
The border security force in Khanh Hoa Province has sought the assistance of fishing boats anchored in the sea to help search for the six missing fishermen.
The fishermen were out at sea with their vessel when they were hit by a giant wave one nautical mile away from Hon Doi Island.
The six missing men are Tran Min, captain of the boat; Nguyen Van Thanh, Vo Minh Hieu and three others whose identities are not yet established.
