Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau this morning kicked off the open provincial sailboat race at the Marina tourist ship port in Dong Xuyen Indistrial Park, Vung Tau City.
The race takes place from December 24 to 25 at Dinh River, Rach Dua, Vung Tau City.
30 teams with a total of 60 local and international athletes will compete on the Marina Cup.
Contestants will sail Catamaran, a type of boat consisting of two hulls jouned by a frame. The organizers said there are one first prize worth VND 40million, one second prize, valued at VND 25 million and one third prize worth VND 15million and other prizes. Total prize money is VND 100million.
The festival is the provincial sport, cultural event in 2016.
