The Ministry of Health announced the Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong’s Decision to award the title, “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces”, to revolutionary martyr and doctor Dang Thuy Tram for her outstanding contribution during the resistance war against the US Army.
Dang Thuy Tram was in charge of an infirmary in the central province of Quang Ngai in the war time. Her diary is a best-seller in 2005.
Also on this occasion of Vietnamese Doctor’s Day (February 27), the Ministry of Health launched a movement to follow Heroic Tram’s example.
