The hardest hit provinces such as Quang Ninh, Bac Giang and Lang Son have concentrated on clean-up works to help residents stabilize their lives and resume production, said Mr. Van Phu Chinh, head of the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

Coal mines and waste dumps have no longer been threatened by landslides in Quang Ninh. Ha Tu and Coc Sau mines are expected to resume operation on August 10, he added.

According to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center, the southern region has been cloudy and windy since Thursday. Many areas have seen showers and scattered thunderstorms in late afternoons and at night.
