President Emboldens Typhoon-Hit victims in Thua Thien- Hue province

On Friday, October 6th, President Nguyen Minh Triet had an inspection tour to the typhoon-hit central province of Thua Thien-Hue. 

The President visited locals whose houses were broken down in the wake of the storm, and praised their efforts to prevent the “big elephant” disaster.

He also urged provincial leaders to soon recover from the Xangsane aftermaths and help inhabitants of storm-torn region resume production at a meeting on the same day.

President Triet then came to the coastal areas of Phu Vang and Phu Loc districts where landslides happened during the storm. He asked local authority to repair blown-off dykes and work with the Dyke Bureau to soon improve the situation.
