Polish porcelain exhibition in Hanoi

A Polish porcelain exhibition will take place at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on July 4-9.

A Polish porcelain exhibition will take place at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on July 4-9.

The display presents to Vietnamese viewers a collection of 46 porcelain paintings of European monkeys depicted on architectural structures in European countries and 28 porcelain sculptures of humans and animals in modern shapes and simple decorative designs, a special characteristic of the 2nd half of the last century.

The exhibition organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi and supported by the Polish Airlines LOT aims to mark the occasion of Poland taking over the rotating presidency of the Council of European Union for the 2nd half of 2011.

The exhibits are products of AS Cmielow Porcelain Factory which is situated in the south-east of Poland and was established in 1804.

Polish porcelain has a long tradition dating back to the 18th century. At present, there are 7 factories producing a variety of porcelain in Poland.
