Vietnam will implement a national policy aimed to reduce alcohol consumption effective until 2020.
The policy’s guidelines aim to reduce social and health effects, reduce circulation of low-quality alcoholic beverages, reduce level of alcoholic beverages amongst adults over 15 years old, and forbid the sale of alcohol to intoxicated persons under 18 years old.
The policy also issues guidelines that standardize the production and trade of alcoholic beverages in the country. Authorities will be stricter while issuing licenses to producers by monitoring procedures, quality standards, food safety and labels.
Product labels are necessary for accountability of producers to produce high-quality products for sale in markets.
