In his business trip to the Mekong delta, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of agencies yesterday attended the inauguration of the FPT University and software park complex in Can Tho City.
Covering an area of 17.4 hectares, the VND 1,170 trillion (around $86 million ) university and software park complex is the first of its kinds in the Mekong delta, it is expected to train 10,000 students and 5,000 lecturers in the fields of software, IT services, tourism and hi-tech agriculture.
As of July, 2018, the first phase of the complex was completed with a total investment of VND200 billion. As per schedule, in 2019, Gama building in the area of 12,000 square meter, senior high school, dormitory, canteen, sport complex and software Park will be built.
Can Tho People’s Committee Chairman Vo Thanh Thong expected the complex to contribute to IT training for the city and the region. He promised to facilitate the Corporation in the future.
He added the FPT University and Software Park Complex is an effective model for training new technologies, especially in the fourth industrial revolution, helping students to acquire skills and practical experiences.
He expected the Corporation to become a leading university and training and scientific-technological research center in Vietnam.
