Pianist Tristan Pfaff and flutist Clément Dufour will give a recital at the Institute of Cultural Exchange of France (IDECAF) in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20.

Clément Dufour is the first prize winner at the well-known International Flute Competition Jean-Pierre Rampal in Paris in 2005. Tristan Pfaff is the second prize winner at the International Piano Ferrol in 2008.
The duo was discovered by l’ADAMI and known as ‘The Classical Discovery’. They have performed in many famous theaters in the world.
Born in 1985, French pianist Tristan Pfaff began his studies at the Conservatoire National de Region de Nantes before joining the class of Denis Pascal at the CNR of Rueil-Malmaison.
In 2000 he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris.
Tristan Pfaff has won numerous international competitions such as Concours International de Ferrol in 2008; Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow and Long-Thibaud Competition in 2007; Porto contest in 2005; Vianna da Motta Competition in 2004; Arcachon Piano Competition in 2003; and the Krainev contest in 2002.
He was winner of the Foundation Banque Populaire in 2004, and named Revelation Classic Adami in 2006.
The French flutist was born in 1987 in Versailles. He was introduced to the flute early in life. From 1995 until 2003 he studied the flute at the Regional Music Academy of Rueil-Malmaison. Clément entered the National Music and Dance Academy of Lyon (CNSMD) in September 2003.
Clement has won many competitions such as the first prize at the European Music Competition in Picardy in 2001; the first prize at the Bellan competition, of the National Competition for Young Flutists and of the UFAM competition in 2002. In April 2004 he won second prize at the second ‘Internationaler Rotary Musikförderpreis’ in Nüremberg, Germany and in October of the same year was a finalist in the third European Young Concert Artist in Paris. In April 2005 he was awarded second Prize at the third International Flute Competition in Cracow.
In October 2005, he won the 1st Grand Prize at the 7th international Jean-Pierre Rampal flute competition, the world's foremost flute contest in Paris.
He plays in many countries including France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Japan, England and the US.
The concert will also be held at the French cultural center L'Escape in Hanoi on September 18.
