The Department of Health in the central province of Nghe An May 2 asked for additional 50,000 measles vaccine dozes to give free vaccination to children.
A medical mission team led by Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long arrived in Nghe An Province to supervise anti-measles prevention.
The local health authority said that vaccination is administered in 20 districts of the province. As of May 1, around 29,739 children from nine to 24 month old have been immunized, accounting for 96.6 percent of the target plan.
The Children Hospital and the General Hospital in the province are two hospitals admitting measles patients.
