The 26th National Photo Exhibition opened at the Museum of Fine Arts in Ho Chi Minh City on October 10.
The exhibition presents to viewers prize winning photographs selected from the biennial National Art Photography Contest launched four months ago.
The organizers, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association, granted 22 awards including two gold medals, four silver medals, six bronze medals and 22 encouragement prizes in the categories of color, and black and white photos.
Two gold medals went to ‘In the rain’ by Mai Thanh Chuong of Quang Nam Province and ‘Economic potential’ by Vo Thi Bach Yen of Ben Tre Province.
The organizing board received 6,839 photos by 1,555 photographers from across the country, in various themes such as daily activities, beautiful landscapes, economic development, protection of country, sea and islands, and national culture.
