NA chairman visits Indian parliament in New Dehli

NA Chairman Trong and his high level delegation met Hamid Ansari, who is also chairman of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament in the city’s Parliament House, during his official visit.

Trong said that while Vietnam – India relations had existed for many years through economic and cultural exchanges, the relationship between two countries was developing in politics, economics, culture, education and science and technology.

Hamid Ansari agreed for more exchanges and co-operation between Vietnam’s National Assembly and the Upper House of the Indian Parliament, bilaterally or through inter-parliamentary forums in the region and around the world.

Earlier, Trong and his delegation talked with the chairman of the House Committee on External Affairs Yashwant Sinha.

On the same day, Trong laid wreaths at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

In the evening, Trong and the delegation talked with a delegation led by the Speaker of the Lower House of the Indian Parliament Meira Kumar.
