The Finance Minister on December 24 asked all concerned agencies to enhance management of prices of essential commodities.
All departments of finance and concerned agencies will oversee price, taxation and other payments of essential goods such as fresh water for daily activities, transport fee, foodstuffs, dairy products for children below six, medicines, parking fees, as well as commodities such as petroleum, fertilizers and animal feed.
Any irregular price hike will be strictly penalized.
