The Labour Party (PT) of Mexico wanted to boost solidarity, friendship and expand cooperation with the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) as well as between the two countries’ peoples, said the PT leader.
During a meeting with CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi on June 15, PT General Secretary Senator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez spoke highly of Vietnam ’s achievements during the past 25 years of national renewal.
He congratulated Vietnam on the success of the 11 th Party Congress, saying it signaled a new period in national construction and defence, industrialisation and modernisation, as well as implementation of the goal of “a strong country with rich people, an equal, democratic and civilised society”. Gutierrez informed Trong of the outcomes of talks between delegations of the two parties and the inauguration of a statue of President Ho Chi Minh as the PT’s gift to the presidential palace precinct. General Secretary Trong gave thanks for the solidarity and friendship of the PT and Alberto Anaya Gutierrez in particular to the Party, Uncle Ho and people of Vietnam as well as the gift on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s 121st birthday (May 19) and the 100th anniversary of the day he went abroad to seek pathways for national salvation. He affirmed Vietnam ’s resolve to further promote friendship and cooperation between the two parties and peoples. Earlier, the PT delegation held talks with the CPV delegation led by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee. They discussed measures to promote and expand friendship and cooperation between the two parties and countries and shared views on international issues of common concern.
