A cheap kit to analyze test result and quickly discover E. coli bacteria was invented by a group of Vietnamese scientists of the Vietnam National University.

Scientists of the Integrated Circuit Design Research and Education Center (ICDREC), Vietnam National University November 30 said they have made a kit to detect E. coli, a common type of bacteria that can get into food, like beef and vegetables, in one hour.

The US$200 kit will help healthcare workers in managing food safety and hygiene.
