An injured whale was washed ashore on the Ninh Ich Commune beach in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on March 16 at 6 am.
The whale measured 2 meters in length and weighed around 200 kilograms. Fisherman found it to suffer from several injuries on its back and body.
Residents immediately informed the relevant authorities who tried to cure the animal but to no avail as the whale died at 3 pm on the same day.
The Ninh Ich Commune People’s Committee has asked officials and resident to bury the whale as per the custom there. Local fishermen here refer to a whale respectfully as Ca Ong (Lord Whale).
