The festival includes a series of cultural and sport activities prompting potentials of the national historical relic site as well as calling for investment in upgrading Huong Tich Pagoda.
The festival organization committee and local authorities offer around 4,500 high-quality boats that have been put at the disposal of visitors to visit the Huong Pagoda during the Festival.
The organizers have also laid strict regulations to deal with violators and vandalism of Buddha’s holy place of worship and the surrounding beauty, landscape and environment; and ensure food hygiene for tourists. The local authorities has also asked shops to pledge not to overcharge tourists and guarantee food hygiene and safety.
The festival is the biggest and longest annual festival in Vietnam that lasts for three full months. The event attracts more than 1 million pilgrims and tourists every year.
The Huong Pagoda in My Duc district of Hanoi is traditionally a place where pilgrims go to welcome Tet Lunar New Year every year.
On the same day, the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival opened in Ha Tinh province’s Can Loc District.
The festival featuring many traditional cultural activities and folk games is expected to attract thousands of pilgrims. It runs until the 3rd lunar month.
The provincial authorities invested more than VND300 billion to upgrade Huong Tich Pagoda in 2017.
