Ho Chi Minh City sees sea of flags, flowers on National Reunification Day

HCMC was brightly adorned with red flags bearing yellow stars, floral decorations, and banners celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2026) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).

From bustling areas in the city center to small alleys and residential neighborhoods, red flags with yellow stars can be seen flying everywhere alongside banners marking the country’s major holiday. It is easy to encounter locals and visitors dressed in red shirts featuring the yellow star, joyfully taking part in community activities with cheerful expressions.
