Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan had a meeting with Russia’s Gazprom International's Managing Director Valery Gulev to to boost cooperation between the city and Russian enterprises yesterday evening.
Total commercial turnover between Ho Chi Minh City and Russia reached US$ 180 million and the city welcomed over 60, 000 visitors from Russia in first nine months of the year, reported chairman Le Hoang Quan.
Bilateral cooperation in liquefied petroleum gas exploitation is regarded to be suitable for business development, he said.
The chairman also expressed his desire that Russian enterprises would invest in bus rapid transit system to deal with traffic jam in the city.
Gazprom International Company and Vietnam Gas and Oil Group have set up a joint venture company with total investment capital up to US$ 1 billion. Gazprom International Company has also opened its representative office in the city.
