This year’s event themed “Spring-Orgin and Creativity” will focus on honoring poets who participated in the 1968 Spring Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising.
The poetry festival will introduce 20 poetry clubs from universities and districts citywide.
The event will include various activities such as exchanges between poets, an area presenting young authors’ works, poetry readings, recitations, seminars and art performances.
The 16th Vietnam Poetry Day themed “Literature accompanying the nation” will be also organized at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi on the same day with a wide range of activities.
Started on Nguyen Tieu (the 15th day of the first lunar month) in 2003, the Vietnam Poetry Day has become a biggest poetry festival in the country. The festival is an opportunity for Vietnamese poetry lovers to enjoy famous poetry works by well known poets and to promote Vietnam’s beautiful and serene landscapes.
