He made the statement at the twentieth Party Committee conference yesterday to discuss socioeconomic development duties in 2019 and plan for 2020 and other significant missions.
Mr. Hai pointed out that agricultural production is forecast to face difficulties in the next years due to water scarcity while agriculture is, by its very nature, the largest user of water resources; therefore, the city should take heed of agricultural re-structuring.
Moreover, the city authority must check production facilities which make chemicals to prevent explosion risk and pollution, he asked.
Besides, disbursement of major construction sites must be beefed up and administrative reforms must be done.
He pointed out that Hanoi still faces difficulties in appealing social contributions to develop economy and push up construction of industrial parks as per the plan.
Additionally, he also mentioned the impact of African Swine Fever on the country’s livestock and firefighting.
Emphasizing that 2020 is the last year to complete socio-economic plan of the five-year plan 2015-2020, Mr. Hai ordered all administrations, agencies and unions to continue improving investment environment as well as remove difficulties to facilitate businesspersons.
Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said Gross Regional Domestic Product of Hanoi increased by 7.46 percent in 2019, highest in four years lately. Furthermore, exports surged by 25.8 percent and it attracted US$ 8.05 billion.
