The 6th edition of the festival aims to mark the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10) and the 20th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized as a 'City for Peace' by UNESCO.
The book show features 200 booths of local and foreign publishers and book distributors across the country and from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore along with embassies of India, France, Indonesia, Italia, and the Czech Republic.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao said that the event contributes to raise public awareness about the importance of reading books and building a culture of reading in Vietnam.
The festival also offers many sideline activities to visitors, such as introduction of new books; exchanges between authors and readers, and exhibition on books of Hanoi.
