The opening ceremony was kicked off with a festival of more than flower garlands and colored lanterns in Dong Ho pond. Local residents release more than 100 big lanterns and over 30,000 small pieces on 14 th -15th day of the first lunar month (on February 18-19).
The festival also incudes traditional music performance, book exhibition, calligraphy street, folk games, tourism and food fair and Vietnam Poetry Day.
On this occasion, Ha Tien city’s government inaugurated Chieu Anh Cac memorial house which was built with a capital of VND15 billion. The memorial house located in Binh San Mountain historical relic site offers literary works and items of the Chieu Anh Cac poetry and literary group. It is also a place for artists to gather to participate in poetry and literature activities on Nguyen Tieu Festival (the 15th day of the first lunar month).
On the same day, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Ha Tinh province held the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Festival to commemorate the Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, starting the 2019 Ha Tinh Tourism Year.
