Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has asked ministries, the People’s Committees of provinces and cities, and relevant companies to prepare reports on mining and environmental protection so that the Government can make a general report for the National Assembly.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was required to report its management of natural resources and environment.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade was asked to make a report on mining, processing and use of minerals, not including building materials.
The Ministry of Construction is supposed to report mining, processing and use of minerals used for building materials.
The Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, Vietnam
National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, and PetroVietnam were required to make reports on areas they manage.
The People’s Committees of provinces and cities are supposed to report mining activities and use of minerals under their authority.
Deputy PM Hai has asked the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to work with the People’s Committee of Kon Tum Province in the Central Highlands to make reports to the Government on gold mining before March 1.
This is because Kim Son Thuy Ltd. Company has turned Dak Pet streamline in the province’s Dak Glei District into a large-scale gold mining site, affecting local people, roads, bridges and the environment.
