The Ao Toi (Poncho) fund in the central province of Ha Tinh in coordination with the Hy Vong (Hope) Fund in the central province of Nghe An yesterday presented sweaters and necessities to ethnic minority groups in the central province of Quang Binh.
21 households of Van Kieu ethnic minorities and teachers who are working in the village of Van Kieu in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park were provided essential goods totally worth VND30 million (US$ 1,356).
Hy Vong Fund established by Businessman Pham Hien gave 120 warm clothes and gifts to students and A Rem ethnic minority residents in Tan Trach Commune. Gifts and clothes are totally worth VND70 million contributed by businessman Pham Hien.
In related news, as Tet holidays are nearly coming, many young people in the central province of Quang Nam have organized visits to poor people in the mountainous district to give them gifts. The provincial Committee of Vietnam Young Association has provided medical treatment and 200 gifts to residents in rural district Nam Tra My.
Another group of members of the provincial Communist Youth Union held a program “ Am Tinh Xuan Bien Gioi” ( Warm Border Spring) to give gifts to inhabitants in Nam Giang District which is border with Laos. The program was supported by Chu Lai – Truong Hai Corporation. Ms. Y Kieng who lives in Nam Giang expressed thanks to the group, eagerly saying: “before volunteers have helped the village to have power, now they presented gifts to villagers”.
Teachers and students of Tran Phu Senior High School in the central city of Da Nang visited Huong Duong Social House to give gifts to orphans and disadvantaged kids residing there.
