Fuel prices increase strongly to above VND21,000 per liter

After retreating for four consecutive times, fuel prices in Vietnam sharply rose to above VND21,000 per liter as of 6 p.m. on October 1.

The price of E5 RON92 gasoline gained by VND666 per liter to sell at VND19,780 per liter. The price of RON95-III gasoline climbed VND923 per liter to sell at VND21,066 per liter. Diesel oil edged up VND438 per liter to VND16,638 per liter. Kerosene went up VND424 per liter to VND15,786 per liter. Mazut oil surged VND829 per kilogram to VND14,919 per kilogram.

At the same time, the ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance ordered fuel wholesalers to keep the setting up level of the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund for biofuel E5 RON92 at VND100 per liter and reduce the setting up level for RON95 gasoline and other kinds of oil to VND300 per liter/kilogram from the previous level of VND400 per liter/kilogram.

Allocations of the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund were also changed. Particularly, fuel traders were allowed to tap VND300 per liter for E5 RON92 gasoline, VND500 per liter for RON95 gasoline, VND200 per liter for diesel oil and kerosene and VND500 per kilogram for mazut oil.
