Fuel prices hike after five cuts in a row

Retail petrol prices were raised by VND 612 (US$0.027) per litre as of 3:00 pm on September 18 following five price cuts in a row since July 4 with a combined reduction of VND 3,000 ($0.133) per litre.

The Ministries of Industry and Trade, and Finance set the new ceiling price for RON 92 petrol at VND 17,950 ($0.798) per litre and for bio-petrol E5 at VND 17,455 ($0.776) per litre.

Prices of diesel and kerosene went up VND 576 and VND 513 per litre, respectively, while that of mazut rose by VND 297 per litre.

This is the 16th fuel price adjustment this year.

The ministries said the average global price of RON 92 petrol from September 3-17 went up $3 per barrel compared to the time of the previous petrol price adjustment.
