On April 2, the first cohort of the “20,000 hands-on AI talent training program” officially commenced at VinUniversity, with 500 participants enrolled.
Selected from thousands of applications, the inaugural cohort brings together candidates from diverse backgrounds, including technology, engineering, and business. More than 63 percent are final-year students from leading universities, 31 percent are university graduates, and nearly 5 percent hold master’s or doctoral degrees.
The program is structured as a 12-week full-time course following a 3+3+6 model: three weeks of foundational training, three weeks of simulated real-world scenarios, and six weeks of direct placement within enterprises.
After the foundation phase, participants are streamed into three specialized tracks such as AI product development, AI infrastructure, and AI applications. In the final phase, trainees work full-time on real-world projects within companies under the direct mentorship of engineers and technology experts from the Vingroup ecosystem.
Throughout the program, participants are trained to develop and deploy AI solutions in enterprise settings, including AI agent models. The curriculum focuses on three core competencies: product thinking aligned with business problems, technical infrastructure development, and AI application development.
According to Professor Duong Nguyen Vu, Vice President and Scientific Director of the AI Research Center at VinUniversity, the program is designed to equip participants with three essential capabilities: product-oriented thinking grounded in business needs, responsible use of AI, and, most importantly, practical AI skills that enable them to contribute effectively immediately after graduation.
As part of its long-term investment in talent development, Vingroup is fully funding tuition and providing a monthly stipend of VND8 million for each participant during the training period. Outstanding trainees will be selected for advanced programs to further develop into AI experts and project leaders.
