A 2-day executive policy seminar on healthcare system and healthcare financing reforms opened on April 16 in Hanoi.

The seminar, as part of the flagship training course for Vietnam’s healthcare system and healthcare financing reforms, is organized by the World Bank Institute in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, at the initiative of Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien. 

This is the first time the World Bank Institute helds this kind of course in Vietnam.

The course introduces a practical and comprehensive framework for understanding healthcare systems and their performance and a structured approach to developing healthcare system reform policies.

Vietnam’s health sector has achieved important success in improving population health resulting in positive trends in key health indicators. Vietnam has emerged as an early achiever in a majority of MDG targets.
