City leaders meet soldiers from Spratly Islands, DK1 Frame House

On evening of December 6, about 50 staff and soldiers from Spratly Islands and DK1 Frame House met with high ranking leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, on occasion of their visit to the City.

The meeting was attended by Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Chairwoman of the City People's Council; Than Thi Thu, Head of the Department of Propaganda and Education of the Party Committee; and Vo Thi Dung, Chairwoman of Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

During the meeting, Chairwoman Quyet Tam welcomed the soldiers warmly and hoped that the soldiers will continue their mission after they return to the Spratly Islands and DK1 Frame House.

On behalf of the Party and city residents, Chairwoman Quyet Tam sent greetings to soldiers as well as residents living in Spratly Islands and DK1 Frame House.

On the same day, soldiers in Spratly Islands and staff of Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City offered incense and flowers at Ben Duoc Memorial Temple and Nga Ba Giong Memorial Relic in Hoc Mon District. The delegation also visited Cu Chi Tunnels and called on Vietnamese heroic mothers.

On behalf of the soldiers, Colonel Nguyen Hai Trieu from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of South Vietnam, expressed not only his gratitude to the people of Ho Chi Minh City for their warm welcome but also affirmed the determination of soldiers to protect the sovereignty of the country.
