The Ho Chi Minh City Voluntary Blood Donation's steering committee (HVBD) under the HCMC People's Committee this morning organized the ceremony to honor blood donors across the country on the occasion of the world blood donor day on June 14.
On behaf of the HVBD, doctor Le Quang Ninh expressed his gratitude to over 1.75 million people cross the country whose have donated blood to save the patients since December 1994 to date.
They include Nguyen Huu Thuan who volunteered to donate 85 times; Pham Kim My, Luong Dinh Chieu, Ngo Van Du, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Lam Kien Phuoc, Vu Chan Minh and Nguyen Hoang Phuong with 80 times
Doctor Ninh honored 10,000 people from the HCMC humanity blood donation center and many elderly people whose mobilized their relatives to join in the blood donation program.
At the ceremony, 50 individuals whose donated 40 times awarded certificates of merit; 154 people with 30 times donating blood received certificates from the Vietnam Red Cross Association and
445 individuals with 20 times received certificates from the HCMC People's Committee.
