There’s not much time left for the twelve candidates in the V-League 2008, as a result, they all tried all their best in the fourth round on Saturday. However, some tears were inevitable.

Southern-Steel Saigon Port (SSSP) suffered much misery after a 0-6 loss to Hai Phong Cement (HPC) on the Lach Tray field.

HPC surprised SSSP much since the beginning with their active role on the field. But HPC only let SSSP stay safely in first 3 minutes before an opening score was made by Leandro.

Later, HPC continued their winning streak. Ngoc Thanh doubled the scores at the 46th minute before Helio achieved the third win at the 70th minute.

Ngoc Thanh gained two consecutive scores at the 76th and 83rd minute while De Jesus finished the match with the sixth score for HPC.

Pijico Song Lam Nghe An though having Viet Nam’s 2008 most outstanding player Cong Vinh nevertheless suffered another loss to Becamex Binh Duong, after the previous loss to Halida Thanh Hoa in the third round.

The sole score in the match was made at the 84th due to a tricky cooperation between BBD’s Kesley and Philani.

Another tear was shed by Phu My Fertilizer Nam Dinh (PMD) since they was defeated by a weak opponent, Khataco Khanh Hoa (KKH).

Though PMD sent their strongest formation to the match, however, they lost all chances to win.

At the 84th minute, KKH’s Quang Hai after receiving a pass quickly broke through the defense line and made an opening score. This was also the final result.

What goes up then comes down, that’s what the big boy Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) got after a 2-1 victory over Ha Noi ACB in the previous round.

Host Halida ThanhHoa (HTH) soon made an opening score at the 15th minute thanks to Moses. Fourteen minutes later, Huy Thai doubled the scores to two-nil for HTH before Moses pushed it up to three-nil at the 55th minute.

The visitor, HAGL, only gained one score at the 80th minute thanks to Augostinho.

The last two matches between Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank Dang Nang via Hoa Phat Ha Noi and The Cong via Dong Tam Long An only came to a draw.
