Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the Ministry of Health to inspect prescription regulation especially prescribing anti-biotic in hospitals.
Moreover, the Ministry must adopt measures to check prescribed drugs in pharmacies. Authority will throw a book at violators.
The Prime Minister also asked the ministries of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Environment and Natural Resources to review the national action plan on drug resistance prevention in the period 2013-2020.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was asked to increase inspection of production, import and sale of antibiotic in husbandry and fishery. The ministry should prepare roadmap for animal feed with antibiotic with the aim of disease prevention.
The ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development and of Health liaise to manage materials for antibiotic production and in husbandry.
According to the Ministry of Health’s statistics, 50 percent of prescription have antibiotic.
