It is expected to play a significant role in the socioeconomic development of areas in the north of the Red River Delta.

Cargo transport from Hai Phong and Quang Ninh to the northwestern region will be facilitated after the intersection is completed next year in the capital’s northern gateway.

The overpass and approach roads are expected to cost VND2.85 trillion (US$135 million) and are being built by the Him Lam Company under a BT (build-transfer) contract.

The overpass will be 809.7 meters long.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by city Party Committee Secretary Pham Quang Nghi and People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen The Thao.
