Through investigation, medical workers said that three her family members have not been vaccinated against seasonal flu yet.
Returning the house after a tour, the woman experienced signs of flu such as high fever and breathing problem. She was hospitalized when her lung was affected and her white blood cell count was low. She died later soon.
Her husband and daughter also experienced fever and cough. Their samples were sent to Pasteur Institute for testing. Results showed that the female died of seasonal flu and her husband and daughter are infected with the same flu virus.
The municipal Preventive Medicine Center carried out preventative measures. This is the first outbreak of season flu in the city with one death.
Accordingly the city’s Preventive Medicine Center warned people especially those with chronic diseases to immunize vaccine against flu annually.
In addition, they should keep personal hygiene such as covering their mouth when sneezing or coughing, washing their hands with soap after sneezing or coughing or after taking care of ill people.
When they experience flu symptoms, they should go to nearby medical clinics for timely treatment.
