Three men were killed and one seriously injured when a wall collapsed on them, while they were painting a mural in Lan Phuong tourist site in Tra Co Commune of Tan Phu District in the southern province of Dong Nai on April 10.
Ngo Sy Bang, chairman of the People’s Committee in Tan Phu District in the southern province of Dong Nai, said the Lan Phuong tourist site had hired four workers to paint a mural on a 7.5 metre and 8 metre long wall.
As soon as the workers put up the scaffolding, the wall caved and collapsed on them, burying all the four workers.
Two of the workers, Nguyen Quoc Thien, 28, and Le Hong Son, 44, both from Tan Phu District, died on the spot. Nguyen Van Hoi died on the way to the hospital and a fourth worker was seriously injured, and is presently being treated in a hospital in Tan Phu District.
This wall was part of a contract negotiated three weeks ago between Lan Phuong tourist site and a contractor from Tan Phu District in Ho Chi Minh City.
The authorities are investigating the case.
