Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a proposal by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to allow Vietnamese laborers to return to work in Libya.

As the political situation and social conditions in Libya have become more stable, several foreign contractors have contacted Vietnamese manpower companies for more labor force.
PM Dung has instructed the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lay out specific plans for Vietnamese workers to take on labor contracts in Libya, keeping their security in mind.
The Ministry of Labor should instruct companies to pay attention to clauses on responsibilities by relevant sides to workers’ safety in case of a volatile situation.
The ministry should also regularly maintain contact with the Libyan Embassy in Vietnam to keep track of the situation and timely handle unexpected cases.
Because of the political unrest in Libya at the beginning of 2011, PM Dung had ordered evacuation of more than 10,000 Vietnamese workers.
