Two Vietnamese female scientists will be honored with the Kovalevskaia Award 2010 on International Women's Day on March 8.
Two winners of the Kovalevskaia Award 2010 are Luong Chi Mai, Deputy Professor-PhD and deputy director of the Institute of Information Technology and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; and Nguyen Thi Loc, PhD and head of the Insect Ecology and Biological Control of the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta Rice Research Institute.
The event is one of the many activities to mark the celebrations for International Women's Day.
The Kovalevskaia Prize Committee was founded in 1985 and is headed by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh, Former Vice-President of Vietnam. Over the past 25 years, the Kovalevskaia Prize Committee in Vietnam has selected and awarded prizes to 34 individuals and 15 groups.
